Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid vehicles incorporate very similar technology – but with a key difference. Both switch seamlessly between two power sources, an efficient petrol engine and a self-charging Hybrid battery, however Plug-in Hybrid vehicles feature a higher capacity battery to deliver greater electric performance when they have been plugged in to charge.
You can recharge a Plug-in Hybrid from a domestic power supply (3-pin plug) in approximately 6.5 hours*, making overnight charging convenient and, in many cases, economical. For optimum speed and safety, the combination of a dedicated cable and wall box unit will return a full charge in around 2.5 hours*.

Actual charging times may vary depending on various factors, including the age, type, condition and temperature of the charging unit and the battery, the starting charge and environmental conditions at the point of use. Charge times may be longer in colder weather and if battery temperature activates safeguarding technology.

For added peace of mind, every battery comes with a three year / 60,000 miles* warranty which with an annual Hybrid Health Check extends battery cover up to 10 years. When a battery reaches the end of its life, Toyota take back scheme ensure it is dealt with safely and responsibly.
