Eye-catching design effortlessly blends with innovative new technology. The Mirai is the next step in the age of zero harmful tail pipe immissions, powered by electricity made in its innovative fuel cell stack that fuses oxygen and hydrogen together.

  • The Mirai’s fuel cell engine fuses hydrogen and oxygen, driving its electric motor with efficiency. As a result you can enjoy zero harmful tail pipe immissions and a driving range of up to 400 miles.^

  • Refueling is simple. Filling up the Mirai takes up to five minutes. It is much like filling a conventional car. The pump does all the work. Simply connect the nozzle and squeeze the handgrip, securing it in place. Mirai’s computer sends information to the pump, filling the tank safely and fast.

HYDROGEN FAQS

It is an electric vehicle that uses an electric motor, with electricity being produced on the spot by the fuel cell stack. Hydrogen powered vehicles emit no harmful gases or other pollutants whilst driving- only water.

The same way as you use a petrol pump, refuel in under 5 minutes at a hydrogen station.

Fuel cell vehicles emit approximately the same amount of water vapour per mile as petrol powered cars.

It is viewed as an industrial commodity, so is readily available from a variety of natural sources.

Since 2007, fuel cell prices have already halved. With increasing development, expect to see hydrogen fuel cells everywhere.

Hydrogen tanks are made of carbon fibre and are thoroughly tested. They are just as safe as other vehicle fuels like diesel and natural gas.

Battery Electric vehicles are powered by a battery and one or more electric motors, and must be charged when the state of charge runs low. Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric vehicles produce their own electricity through a chemical reaction in an onboard fuel cell stack, and are refuelled with hydrogen at a filling station when required. Hydrogen vehicles offer impressive performance and convenient long-distance mobility since refueling is often faster than charging.
