      Optimised centre of gravity
      Mounted between the axles and beneath the floor, the Toyota C-HR+’s battery lowers its centre of gravity versus Toyota C-HR Hybrid, improving stability and handling. It also mounts directly to the body structure, enhancing structural rigidity.

For safety functions, Toyota C-HR+ includes functions such as Proactive Driving Assist and Safe Exit Assist.

Acceleration Suppression at Low Speed

While driving at low speed, if the accelerator is pressed hard in front of obstacles such as another car, cyclist or pedestrian, the system will restrict sharp acceleration to help to minimise the risk of a collision

Front Cross Traffic Alert (FCTA)

FCTA helps protect your vehicle from crossing traffic at every busy junction. It detects vehicles passing in front and alerts the driver through the Head-up Display (HUD), if equipped, before activating a buzzer if a collision is anticipated.

Proactive Driving Assist - Steering Assist

This function helps to assist the driver to prevent deviation from the driving lane. The system detects the curve ahead and adjusts the steering assist force to facilitate adequate steering. It can also support to improve straight line driving stability.

Emergency Steering Assist with active support (ESA with active support)

This system helps to avoid collision by automatically steering around obstacles to avoid a collision. It will also support to prevent lane departure while avoiding obstacles.

Safe Exit Assist (SEA)

The system is using the radar of the Blind Spot Monitor to help the driver avoid a collision between an opened door or exiting occupants with vehicles or cyclists approaching from the rear. If the system judges that there is a possibility of a collision, an indicator in the outer mirror lights up and multi-information display indicator together with buzzer will alert the occupants.

Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM)

Our Blind Spot Monitoring system alerts the driver to any vehicles they might not have seen in their side mirrors. This is particularly useful when overtaking.

To maximise your EV range:

 

  • Use Eco Driving Mode and activate Auto Eco Mode for the heater.
  • Turn off air-conditioning when not needed; heated seats and steering wheel are a more efficient way of staying warm than turning up the heater
  • Pre-condition the cabin while the car is still on charge – you can do this via the MyToyota app or multimedia display.**
  • Maintain correct tyre pressures; low pressure reduces range.
  • Avoid winter tyres on dry roads as they consume more electricity than summer tyres
  • Remove unnecessary weight in your car
  • Drive smoothly at a moderate, constant speed, avoiding harsh acceleration and braking. When you do need to alter your speed, do so smoothly to decrease your energy usage.

A Battery Electric car:

 

  • Has no Internal Combustion Engine.
