To maximise your EV range:

 

  • Use Eco Driving Mode and activate Auto Eco Mode for the heater.
  • Turn off air-conditioning when not needed; heated seats and steering wheel are a more efficient way of staying warm than turning up the heater
  • Pre-condition the cabin while the car is still on charge – you can do this via the MyToyota app or multimedia display.**
  • Maintain correct tyre pressures; low pressure reduces range.
  • Avoid winter tyres on dry roads as they consume more electricity than summer tyres
  • Remove unnecessary weight in your car
  • Drive smoothly at a moderate, constant speed, avoiding harsh acceleration and braking. When you do need to alter your speed, do so smoothly to decrease your energy usage.

A Battery Electric car:

 

  • Has no Internal Combustion Engine.
  • Runs on electricity alone, with the battery powering one or more electric motors.

 

A Hybrid car:  

 

  • Combines a traditional engine and an electric powertrain – usually a self-charging battery and an electric motor.
  • Combustion engine, electric motor and battery work together.
  • Electric motor boosts performance while also working as a generator to turn surplus energy from the combustion engine into electrical charge, reducing fuel consumption.

Charging your electric vehicle is simple and convenient. Charge whenever it suits you: while you are at home, in public and workplace car parks, or on the go using public chargers.

 

  • To charge your vehicle at home: Use an installed home charger via Toyota HomeCharge, which will get your car charged from 10 to 80% within 5 hours^ (11kW) Plug in overnight and wake up to a fully charged battery.
  • To charge on the go: Use a public charger within the Toyota Charging Network. Using the rapid charger could have you topped up from 10 to 80% in 30 minutes.^
