For safety functions, Toyota C-HR+ includes functions such as Proactive Driving Assist and Safe Exit Assist.

Acceleration Suppression at Low Speed

While driving at low speed, if the accelerator is pressed hard in front of obstacles such as another car, cyclist or pedestrian, the system will restrict sharp acceleration to help to minimise the risk of a collision

Front Cross Traffic Alert (FCTA)

FCTA helps protect your vehicle from crossing traffic at every busy junction. It detects vehicles passing in front and alerts the driver through the Head-up Display (HUD), if equipped, before activating a buzzer if a collision is anticipated.

Proactive Driving Assist - Steering Assist

This function helps to assist the driver to prevent deviation from the driving lane. The system detects the curve ahead and adjusts the steering assist force to facilitate adequate steering. It can also support to improve straight line driving stability.

Emergency Steering Assist with active support (ESA with active support)

This system helps to avoid collision by automatically steering around obstacles to avoid a collision. It will also support to prevent lane departure while avoiding obstacles.

Safe Exit Assist (SEA)

The system is using the radar of the Blind Spot Monitor to help the driver avoid a collision between an opened door or exiting occupants with vehicles or cyclists approaching from the rear. If the system judges that there is a possibility of a collision, an indicator in the outer mirror lights up and multi-information display indicator together with buzzer will alert the occupants.

Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM)

Our Blind Spot Monitoring system alerts the driver to any vehicles they might not have seen in their side mirrors. This is particularly useful when overtaking.

Home Charging

Public Charging

Charging your Toyota C-HR+ is simple and convenient. You can charge at home, at work, or at public charging points while you’re out and about. Charging time depends on the type of charger you use.

 

At home, the easiest option is a dedicated home charger such as Toyota HomeCharge. Using a 7kW home charger, you can charge from 10% to 80% within 6 hours, with a 57.7kWh battery pack~. You can also charge from a standard domestic socket, but this is much slower.

 

When you’re away from home, you can use public chargers in places such as supermarket car parks, retail parks and motorway service stations. Rapid public charging can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in around 28 minutes~.

Here are a few simple ways to make the most of the real-world range of the Toyota C-HR+:

 

  • Use Eco Driving Mode and activate Auto Eco Mode for the heater.
  • Turn off air-conditioning when not needed; heated seats and steering wheel are a more efficient way of staying warm than turning up the heater.
  • Pre-condition the cabin while the car is still on charge – you can do this via the MyToyota app.^^^
  • Maintain correct tyre pressures; low pressure reduces range.
  • Avoid winter tyres on dry roads as they consume more electricity than summer tyres.
  • Remove unnecessary weight from the car.
  • Drive smoothly at a moderate, constant speed, avoiding harsh acceleration and braking. When you do need to alter your speed, do so smoothly to decrease your energy usage.

Battery preconditioning is available on the Toyota C-HR+, and it helps prepare the battery for faster DC charging, which can reduce charging time at a rapid charger.

 

You can activate it by setting a charging station as your destination in the navigation system, using the manual button on the multimedia screen, or scheduling it before you leave, where available.

Driving a Toyota C-HR+ can help lower your running costs; especially if you charge at home on an EV electricity tariff.

To set up Smart Charging for your Toyota C-HR+, you will need your own Toyota HomeCharge wallbox, and access to a home energy meter. The MyToyota app is also essential for setting up and managing this feature. We will review all details with you during the setup.

Smart Charging schedules for your Toyota C-HR+ are automatically estimated based on your preferences. You can set your departure time and battery level preferences, and the system will optimise charging for efficiency, ensuring your vehicle is ready when needed.

Smart Charging aims to optimise your Toyota C-HR+ energy usage, shifting charging to when electricity is cheaper and more environmentally friendly. You can also reduce your home's overall energy consumption at the same time by setting a target state of charge below full capacity when you don't need 100% of your battery.

Smart Charging aims to lower home charging costs by optimising it according to your electricity tariff and preferences. It creates personalised schedules to shift charge times to the most cost-effective times, avoiding high evening peak prices.

Smart Charging can be enabled once you've added your Toyota C-HR+ and HomeCharge wallbox to the MyToyota app. Once enabled, simply provide details of your home energy tariff, the time you need your vehicle, and the desired charge level. Smart Charging then uses this information to intelligently create personalised charging schedules aimed at minimising your charging costs while meeting your mobility preferences.

The savings that Smart Charging for your Toyota C-HR+ can generate may differ depending on your electricity tariff type and rate, your charging habits, and local regulations.
