The new Land Cruiser Commercial incorporates a 48-volt-motor-generator system with three new components:​

  • An electric motor-generator, which replaces the conventional alternator​

  • A 48V lithium-ion battery​

  • A DC-DC converter which ​controls the energy flow battery and motor​

The system compliments the legendary ability of the Land Cruiser Commercial with enhanced engine performance and improved efficiency. ​

  • Power assistance

    Enjoy the responsive drive feel from assisted acceleration with added torque.

  • Engine idling speed

    Improved engine idling speed enabling seamless, quite restarts in stop start traffic.

  • Regenerative energy

    When decelerating, energy is recaptured to optimise fuel consumption.

  • Smooth takeoff

    The motor generator in new Land Cruiser provides a quieter and quicker engine stop start function.
