A home car charging point makes charging convenient, and easily becomes a habit, it makes good use of your time, and means you rarely having to stop at a service station. Plug in overnight and wake to a charged battery, just like charging your mobile phone.
Charging your electric car at home is cheaper than charging at a public charger. There are several off-peak energy tariffs on offer for electric car charging at home which can save you even more money when you charge at specific times.
We highly recommend that you install an electric car charger such as Toyota HomeCharge, which we can help you with, however if needed, you can even plug-in to a domestic socket.

To make installing our electric car chargers easy, we have teamed up with British Gas to provide expert support at every stage.
When you order your Toyota electric vehicle or plug-in hybrid , discuss Toyota HomeCharge with your dealer, who can share your details with British Gas.
The full process typically takes 6-8 weeks, so we recommend ordering your EV charger at the same time as ordering your new vehicle.

*Actual charging times may vary depending on various factors, including the age, type, condition and temperature of the charging unit and the battery, the starting charge and environmental conditions at the point of use. Charge times may be longer in colder weather and if battery temperature activates safeguarding technology.
Not every property is suitable for an EV charger, and some older properties might need a bit of extra electrical work before installation can begin. If you need help, don’t worry – experts from British Gas will be able to advise you free of charge.
