Safe Exit Assist

This system uses the Blind Spot Monitor radar to help prevent a collision between an occupant's opened door and a vehicle or cyclist approaching from behind. If there is a risk of a collision, indicators illuminate on the outer mirrors and multi-information display, together with an audible buzzer to alert occupants.

Rear Seat Reminder System

This system alerts the driver if a passenger or object is left on the rear seat when leaving the car. The alerts will include: a warning on the Combimeter and, subject to model, after locking the car, also hazard lamp and an audible buzzer will activate.

Pre-Collision System

Pre-Collision System can detect and help you avoid collisions with other vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists and motorbikes. It works by alerting the driver with audio and visual warnings and brake assistance. If the driver doesn’t manage to brake in time the brakes automatically engage to prevent or mitigate a collision. Additionally, Intersection Collision Avoidance Support and Emergency Steering Assist support in the day when turning at junctions and making evasive manoeuvres.

Toyota Advanced Park

Public Charging

Charging your Toyota bZ4X is simple and convenient. You can charge at home, at work, or at public charging points while you’re out and about. Charging time depends on the type of charger you use.

 

At home, the easiest option is a dedicated home charger such as Toyota HomeCharge. Using a 7kW home charger, you can charge from 10% to 80% within 6 hours, with a 49kWh battery pack.^ You can also charge from a standard domestic socket, but this is much slower.

 

When you’re away from home, you can use public chargers in places such as supermarket car parks, retail parks and motorway service stations. Rapid public charging can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in around 50 minutes.^

When you buy or lease a Toyota bZ4X, two charging cables are included.

 

  • 3-pin plug cable for slow charging from a standard household socket
  • Type 2 charging cable for faster AC charging at home or at compatible public charge points

Smart Charging automatically schedules the most cost‑efficient time to charge your vehicle based on your energy tariff, battery level, and typical usage patterns. It’s designed to help make home charging cheaper, and more convenient. British Gas customers receive an additional 25% Smart Charging credit on their electricity bill when using Toyota Smart Charging with their bZ4X making home charging even more cost‑effective.

Here are a few simple ways to make the most of the real-world range of the Toyota bZ4X:

 

  • Use Eco Driving Mode and activate Auto Eco Mode for the heater.
  • Turn off air-conditioning when not needed; heated seats and steering wheel are a more efficient way of staying warm than turning up the heater
  • Pre-condition the cabin while the car is still on charge – you can do this via the MyToyota app.^^^
  • Maintain correct tyre pressures; low pressure reduces range.
  • Avoid winter tyres on dry roads as they consume more electricity than summer tyres
  • Remove unnecessary weight from the car
  • Drive smoothly at a moderate, constant speed, avoiding harsh acceleration and braking. When you do need to alter your speed, do so smoothly to decrease your energy usage.

Battery preconditioning is available on the Toyota bZ4X, and it helps prepare the battery for faster DC charging, which can reduce charging time at a rapid charger.

 

You can activate it by setting a charging station as your destination in the navigation system, using the manual button on the multimedia screen, or scheduling it before you leave, where available.
