Three ways to charge an Electric Vehicle

Whether you’re charging overnight at home, at your workplace or at one of the growing number of rapid chargers across the UK, recharging your Electric Vehicle is convenient and easy.

Charge at rapid charge points

Proace City Electric 50kWh time to full charge is 30 mins*

Charge from a wall box

Found in residential garages, driveways and many public and office car parks, these are much quicker than normal plug sockets.

Proace Electric 75kWh time to full charge is 7 hours*

Proace City Electric 50kWh time to full charge is 4 hours 30 mins*

Charge from a plug socket

You can charge directly from a normal plug socket but we would recommend your sockets are checked by an electrician first.

Proace City Electric 50kWh time to full charge is 30 hours and 30 mins*

As with any vehicle there are a few things to consider to maximise the range of your vehicle.

As with a conventional engine, cruising on a motorway will maximise the range of the vehicle compared to city driving with lots of stop and starting.

Heavy acceleration will reduce the range of your EV. You can extend your range by using ‘Eco’ mode. This will make your EV prioritise economy over performance to enhance range. Utilising the B-switch will turn on the regenerative braking function, improving the available range.

Air-conditioning will use energy when driving. Try cooling the cabin whilst the vehicle is still charging to minimise this effect. By heating or cooling when connected to a power source, your EV will use less energy when on the move.

Be aware that the weather can affect the range of your vehicle and it may need charging more often in cold temperatures.
