How to secure your GR86

Please take note of these steps and be aware that your order is only confirmed once you have received a call from our Online Retail team.

Make a request

Click the link below (available from the 3rd of October) and select your preferred colour from the available stock. Choose your preferred dealer and then make a refundable £1,000 card payment. The starting price is £32,495.

Confirm your Order

You'll receive an email invitation to Complete your Order within 5 working days. Follow the link to build your GR86, add a part exchange, get a quote and apply for finance. This generates your ORCA order number. Our Buy Online Team will call you to confirm your order.

Registration and Delivery

Expect registration and delivery within 1-6 weeks of confirming your order. Cash customers will need to pay the outstanding balance close to delivery, while finance customers will need to pay the agreed deposit and complete the necessary finance documents.

Due to limited availability, requesting a GR86 will not guarantee you a vehicle; order is subject to availability and allocation will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.

We will endeavour to give you the colour of your choice, but we may not be able to guarantee you your first option, please have alternatives in the event we cannot honour your first choice.

We recommend you place your order at the earliest opportunity to avoid disappointment.

Customers are required to pay a £1,000 reservation fee at the request to reserve stage. This does not confirm your order, nor does it guarantee the purchase of the car at this stage.  Once your request is verified, you will receive an exclusive link to complete your order online. The £1,000 reservation fee can be refunded to you 14 days after car handover or used towards your deposit. If the order is not completed within the deadline stipulated on the email, the £1,000 reservation fee is refunded back to the account payment was made from.

Please ensure your full name and address exactly matches your driving license. It must also be consistent with your checkout details and finance application if applicable. Any inconsistencies in spelling of first name, middle name, surname and inclusion of nicknames (eg Rob instead of Robert) will cause a delay to your order and incorrect registration details with the DVLA.

This will be requested for cash purchasing customers only. It must be dated within the last 3 months and consist of either a bank statement, council tax or utility bill. The name and address must match exactly with your checkout details. Any inconsistencies in spelling of name and address will cause a delay to your order and will not pass our compulsory, customer verification checks.

Yes, you can include your current car as a part exchange.

Please ensure you add your part exchange details before you check out by clicking on the “Receive a part exchange” button. You will be asked to input your registration number, mileage and general condition of the vehicle before an indicative valuation is provided.

You will have the option to apply for finance before checking out. If successful, you will be able to complete the purchase of your GR86. If your application is “referred” you may be asked to submit additional documentation to support your application. The Buy Online team will email you to request any additional information.


Once you have applied for finance and checked out online, you will need to upload your personal bank account information through your secure MyT account.  This will be used to set up your monthly Direct Debit payments to Toyota Financial Services (TFS).


After checkout, please ensure the following details are uploaded to your secure MyT account: Your name exactly it appears on your bank account and driving licence, your Sort Code, Account Number, preferred date of Direct Debit payment to be deducted monthly.


There are a few mandatory customer verification checks that need to be carried out. Any delay in the provision of this information will result in a delayed delivery and potential cancellation of your order.

Due to high demand and limited availability, the GR86 is not available to buy through your local Centre and is exclusively available by personal email invitation. If you have received an invitation to request a vehicle, your local Toyota centre will be happy to support you with the online order process of your GR86, should you require any assistance. Your part exchange valuation, finance application and reservation fee to confirm your GR86 are all completed online.

This will be a call from the Buy Online team to introduce themselves as your point of contact throughout your ordering process. To confirm the following, full specification of your GR86, full name & address confirmation, registration, funding option and Handover centre. If you have applied for finance, the team will review your personalised quote with you.

If you have paid your £1000 card payment and completed your order you will have received an order confirmation with your unique order ORCA reference number. Please ensure you check your Junk or Spam email folders

We are unable to confirm your position on the waitlist as this is commercially sensitive information.

Once logged in, you can view your order details in the “My Vehicles” tab.

Your GR86 can be tracked on your MyT account, under the “My Vehicles” tab. The Vehicle Order Tracker (VOT) highlights the status of your order, of which there are 5 possibilities.  
 

  • Processing Order
    Initial status of your order, it will stay as processing until a vehicle is allocated to your order in production at our factory. Please rest assured your order is underway.

  • Build In Progress
    Your vehicle has entered production.

  • Left The Factory
    Your vehicle has finished production and has left the factory on the way to our UK hub in Derby.

  • In Transit
    Your vehicle is in transit towards your selected handover centre.

  • Arrived at Dealer
    Once your vehicle arrives at your handover centre, it will require a Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) and valeting. We will endeavour to arrange handover within 2 weeks after arrival.

Once the car arrives in the UK at our national hub in Derby, it will undergo quality control checks and final vehicle prep before being dispatched to your handover centre. It takes approximately 4 weeks for the car to be delivered to your requested handover centre. We are unable to impact the length of time before dispatch, please be patient your GR86 will be with you as soon as possible. 

Collection will be from your selected Toyota Centre. Customers are not permitted at our national hub at Derby.

You can avoid delay by ensuring all your requested documentation has been uploaded e.g. driving license, registration docs, second form of ID and any payment requests have been paid ahead of time. Please note any delay to these requests may result in the cancellation of your order. 

We will require a copy of your V750 Certificate of Entitlement or V778 Retention certificate.  You must provide this before your vehicle is In Transit, please refer to your Vehicle Order Tracker status.


If the certificate is provided after this time, we will automatically select the next available standard registration as provided by the DVLA.


You will need to apply for your own change of registration directly with the DVLA following delivery of your GR86.

Unfortunately, no. All cars will be automatically allocated a registration number from the DVLA database.

If you wish for your vehicle to not be washed or have number plates drilled please contact your nominated Toyota handover centre to discuss your handover requirements.

A welcome call, part exchange arranged if applicable, financial agreement discussed and activated if applicable, full tax and registration of your GR86, arrangement of Drive home Insurance and booking of handover with your selected Toyota centre.

Due to limited availability of stock and high demand, if you have missed your deadline to request a GR86, unfortunately this cannot be reversed. The vehicle will be offered to the next available customer. Honouring our “first come, first serve” approach. Please do not contact us to appeal this process.

There is an extensive waitlist to order GR86 and we are only inviting those who joined the waitlist, starting from those who joined first. Unfortunately, any orders from customers not on the waiting list will not be honoured. Please do not contact us to request a personal invitation to checkout.


If you have attempted to request a GR86 and paid the £1000 reservation fee, this will be refunded in full back to the account payment was made from. Please allow up to 10 working days for the funds to reach your account.

Yes, you can apply for Finance after checkout. A member of the Buy Online team will complete a 20-minute telephone proposal.
 

You will need your personal information to hand, such as current and previous postal addresses (if less than 3 years at current address), employment history and date of birth.
 

Please ensure you have applied for finance by the 3rd of July 2023. Please email your request to apply for finance and any preferred days and times to accept a call from the Buy Online team on online@toyota.co.uk (calls to be conducted Mon-Fri, between 9am-5pm).
 

Please note, we can only offer the current interest rates as set by Toyota Financial Services (TFS). If you are happy to proceed with the finance application through TFS, a hard credit check will be completed, and a decision provided.
 

If your finance application is referred, supporting information may be requested by TFS to support the lend. This could be a request for bank statements, information on outstanding loans or previous address details. The Buy Online Team will be in touch if this is required.

Yes, simply email the Buy Online team on online@toyota.co.uk with the vehicle make, model, registration and mileage and they can arrange for this to be added. We require any part exchange vehicle to be declared before your GR86 arrives at our hub in Derby (please refer to your VOT status).

Yes, simply email the Buy Online team on online@toyota.co.uk to remove the part exchange from your order.

Unfortunately, no, we are unable to provide the use of an alternative vehicle if you have decided to sell your current vehicle before your GR86 is ready. Please note any arrival dates provided by the Buy Online team for your GR86 are estimates, they can come forward as well as go backwards.

We are happy to accept a part exchange with outstanding finance, upon request please ensure you provide an up-to-date settlement letter from your finance provider. After handover any outstanding finance will be settled by the Buy Online team.

We are happy to accept a part exchange with outstanding finance from Toyota Financial Services. We can generate an up-to-date settlement letter on your behalf.

Unfortunately not, we are unable to delay any deliveries due to the popularity of this vehicle and limitations on space at our centres and at our hub. We will deliver all GR86 within 2023. If you are unable to accept delivery within this time frame, we will cancel your order.

The £1000 reservation fee is a mandatory step of the request to reserve the All New GR86. Payment is made online via your exclusive link in your invitation and is refundable 14 days after handover or on order cancellation. You can use the reservation fee towards your deposit or outstanding balance.

 

  1. Requesting the car and making a £1000 payment will not confirm your order. You can only complete your order by following the link in your complete your order invitation.
  2. The complete your order invitation will be emailed to you once your request has been validated against the waitlist. You can select your preferred finance option and add a part exchange online during this stage.

 

Before completing your purchase, you will have the option to choose either cash or finance. GR86 is available at 8.4% APR Representative when flexibly financed through Access Toyota (PCP). Alternatively, you can fund the order as a cash purchase.


Hire Purchase (HP) and Personal Contract Hire (PCH) are regretfully not available for the GR86.

Yes, we are happy to work with third party finance providers in the purchase of your new Toyota. Please check with your third-party finance provider if they require an invoice before pay-out and email any specific details to the Buy Online team on online@toyota.co.uk. This must be supplied before your vehicle has left the factory – please refer to your Vehicle Order Tracker status).

When it’s time to pay your pre-agreed deposit, we will provide you with the Toyota (GB) PLC account details for you to make a bank transfer. If you wish to pay by credit card, please check with your card provider to ensure you have this facility.

When it’s time to pay your outstanding balance, we will provide you with the Toyota (GB) PLC account details for you to make a bank transfer of the agreed amount. If you wish to pay by credit card, please check with your card provider to ensure you have this facility.

The Buy Online team will send any payment notifications by email. Please ensure you adhere to any email payment requests at your soonest availability, to ensure minimal delays to your order and to avoid potential cancellation of your order.
 

Please check with your own bank to understand any payment limitations on bank transfers, we can accept multiple transactions.
 

Please ensure that any bank transfer contains your unique ORCA reference number as the payment reference. Any incorrect reference numbers can cause delay to the order processing.

This will be sent to you electronically via Toyota Financial Services, you will be required to complete some personal, financial security questions before accessing your paperwork.

If you are unable to complete the Toyota Financial Services e-sign process after 3 attempts, you will be requested to complete this physically at your selected handover centre. Due to manual processing times, this will delay the collection of your GR86 by 48 hours.

No, there won’t be any financial documents to sign with Toyota Financial Services (TFS). All customers will be required to electronically sign for their car, at their selected Toyota centre during handover. 

You will need to provide your proof of insurance prior to handover, as this is required to fully tax and register your vehicle.

Introduction to your local Toyota centre, customer identification check, your opportunity to fully inspect your GR86 and when you’re happy with the condition of the vehicle, please complete the electronic signing with your handover specialist. You will also be presented with the opportunity to provide feedback on your handover experience.

Please ensure you have your driving license available for the customer identification check.

If you’re trading in a part exchange please ensure you have; the V5C log book, locking wheel nut key, service history documentation and all keys.


Please leave the above with your handover specialist and any outstanding part exchange finance will be settled by the Buy Online team following handover.

Regretfully no, the GR Ishoo was a limited production run and is now discontinued and no longer available.

Regretfully, no. The customer’s name and address details provided at checkout will be the details used to register the vehicle with the DVLA.


For finance customers the full customers name and address must be consistent throughout the finance application and vehicle registration. Supported by a full, valid driving licence there are no exceptions to this request on behalf of Toyota Financial Services, any changes to name and or address will result in order cancellation.

Regretfully, no. Please note we cannot transfer your vehicle to another person and you will risk your order being cancelled and your reservation fee refunded.

Regretfully, no. Handover of your new car will be done at your pre-selected, Toyota centre, please ensure you have selected your nearest Toyota centre.

Accessories can be ordered at your handover centre once your vehicle arrives with them. Due to WLTP figures these can only be fitted after your GR86 has been taxed and registered with the DVLA.
 

Any purchased accessories will be a transaction between you and your handover centre. Please arrange any ordering and fitment with them directly.

You will be required to place a £1000.00 reservation fee via a card payment at the request to reserve stage. This amount can be refunded, used towards your deposit or final balance. Year 1 road tax of £1565 is included in the purchase of your GR86. You can see this detailed within the “On the Road Price” summary before you place your order.

Year 2 Road tax is payable by you, the owner at £180 per year thereafter (correct at time of publishing, June 2023).

Regretfully, no. The auto dimming mirror is not available on the manual, only on the automatic.

All vehicles will have a pre delivery check and all work completed before handover. If you have a specific request, such as your vehicle to not be washed or have number plates drilled, please contact your nominated Toyota handover centre to discuss your handover requirements.
