Diversity and Inclusion

At TGB and across the Toyota family we are committed to creating a truly inclusive working environment that attracts and engages our diverse talent and enables all of our people to unleash their potential and be their true self at work. We believe that diversity is critical to our future success because we seek input, impact and innovation from a range of talented people – irrespective of any status or characteristic that makes them who they are.

Differences are celebrated making people feel empowered and welcomed. It's important to us that each and every one of our employees feel included, has a voice and that voice is heard. In the recruitment process we make a promise not to discriminate against any protected characteristic, we'll judge your application on merit and won’t make any assumptions.

Flexible Working

We all know that work is important, but here at TGB we understand that it’s not all about the 9 - 5 (sorry Dolly), it’s about a positive work life merge. Flexible working enables people to work in a way that suits them and their families. We encourage people to work flexibly and respect that flexibility at work is personal and looks different for each employee.

We support both Managers and Employees to have conversations about what flexibility means to them, which is why we don’t take a cookie cutter approach to working flexibly. It’s best to talk to us about the flexibility you’d like at the interview and although we can’t promise that we’ll be able to give you exactly what you want, we will definitely promise not to judge you for asking.

We’re committed to the Disability Confident scheme, a national standard that ensures all our processes, including the recruitment process is inclusive and accessible to all!If you’ve a disability or long-term health condition (which could be, dyslexia, anxiety, autism, a mobility condition or hearing loss) and for you to be your best self, would like us to make any adjustments, changes or do anything differently during the recruitment process, let your People contact know. This commitment enables our people to continue to be their best while at work.

Adjustments are made on a case-by-case basis, so have a conversation with us about any adjustments you might need. Any changes will be unique to you, but you’ll find some examples below:

  • Providing extra time in assessments and interviews
  • Providing communication support which could mean a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter during the interview
  • Providing questions in advance of the interview
  • Holding the interview or assessment in an accessible building
  • Holding interviews in different formats – such as over the phone or via video call
