Racing DNA for the road

If your passion’s high performance, the new Yaris GRMN is sure to raise your heartrate. Our highly-tuned hot hatchback is inspired and influenced by Toyota’s return to the World Rally Championship in 2017, with the Yaris WRC.

Underneath its bespoke white, red and black body sits a responsive 1.8-litre engine producing over 210 DIN hp, giving it a best-in-class 0-100km/h acceleration time.

With dynamic handling, rally-car-looks and race team-honed performance, the sensational Yaris GRMN crowns a dynamic new range.

Re-inventing urban commutes

Making its world debut at Geneva, and proving that stop-start town driving doesn’t have to be the boring chore it often can be, is the new i-TRIL Concept. Designed for active mums with children, our show car demonstrates that electric vehicles of the future will set your pulse racing, even on routine daily commutes. At 3,000mm long, 1,510mm high and weighing a mere 600kg, the all-electric i-TRIL Concept can be driven for over 300km between charges.

Active Lean technology means the front of the body and tyres can lean in to corners, ensuring the lucky occupants get a drive that’s stable, agile and fun. On the inside, an engaging driving position and hand controls for steering, acceleration and braking provides drivers with a console-like driving experience. With its spacious One-plus-Two seating layout and the close proximity of its rear seats, mums enjoy some real ‘me time’ driving on their own, while when the kids join her for the ride, they’ll experience ‘happy time’ and the ride of their lives!

Full throttle

After recently uniting its motorsport activities under the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing moniker, Toyota is showing off the thoroughbred machines that it’s pushing to the absolute limit this year in pursuit of making ever-better cars.

The three-pronged attack began in the car-breaking hostility of the Dakar Rally where TOYOTA GAZOO Racing South Africa started the race in fine form, before disaster struck and a potential rally win was cruelly taken away from them. At the finish, three Toyota Hilux vehicles finished in the top ten and 25 other Toyota vehicles completed the race – more than any other manufacturer.

The crowning news must surely be Toyota’s sensational return to the World Rally Championship (WRC) after a 17-year absence with a second place finish in the season-opening Rally Monte-Carlo and a victory at Rally Sweden.

In the World Endurance Championship (WEC), TOYOTA GAZOO Racing will enter three TS050 HYBRIDs at two of the year’s prestigious rounds – including the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans – in the hope of returning to the top step of the podium. With this news comes the welcome arrival of Argentinian racing ace, José María López, to the team. Good luck to all of our teams and drivers this year!
