Prius. A Hybrid Icon. Again.

The Toyota Prius took driving to a new level in 1997 as the world’s first mainstream hybrid car. Today marks another leap forward in intelligent design and technology: the more responsive, more efficient and quieter-than-ever New Prius continues to redefine that outstanding Toyota hybrid. Winner of the Auto Express Green Car of the Year 2016 and now available with Toyota Safety Sense features as standard.

As the Prius benefits from ultra low emissions, you can be exempted from the London congestion charge*.

* Congestion charge exemption applies to the following Prius Grades fitted and registered with a 15" wheel option only. Active, Business Edition, Business Edition Plus & Excel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Prius is far superior to my 2009 t.spirt. The excel model I have is a joy to drive,so many safety features,it incredible how this car has developed, from its beginnings. Unfortunately I have only done short journeys & not many miles.,so cannot give any good economy results yet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It was time for a change This is 3rd Prius for me. Also dealer is convenient. Better hooks/clips/fasteners for loose items in boot needed. I'm a little bit stuck in the mud I suppose. Oh and by the way handling is improved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing vehicle! I bought my new Prius Excel in Hypersonic Red some 5 weeks ago - each new day I get into this car is a revisited driving pleasure! This is my third Prius and without doubt the best. The road handling and ride is so much improved - the responsiveness is superb! The new Prius styling sits well to the eye & my interior is just FAB! Great colour co-ordinations that give a light, but not in your face, interior experience. Fuel consumption (I have the 15" wheel type) is a good 20% up on my last 2009 Prius and is close to the claimed figures - I drive a good mix of town & motorway. The overall ride noise is also hugely improved, which is just the icing on my cake! Happy days to all new Pius drivers!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect I have owned the Excel Hybrid version for 2 weeks and it is almost perfect - build is faultless, driving experience is the smoothest I've ever experienced with the automatic drive being an absolute joy. But only "almost" perfect because of a few irritating niggles - the Sat Nav system (Toyota Touch 2 with Go Plus) has the most user unfriendly interface I've come across - when attempting to input an address, it allows a PostCode but no street number so you only ever get vaguely near your destination; attempting to navigate to an address in the address book is equally frustrating. Have the designers never seen Google Maps?? The boot cover is a horrible flexible sheet that wobbles about and refuses to catch in the appropriate grooves. The storage compartment between driver and passenger is set so that only the driver can gain proper access. Storage in the cabin is quite poor, with an extremely small glove box. None of the niggles make me wish I hadn't bought the car but they are irritants that shouldn't be there in a car of this quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Car I purchased this car a month ago to replace my outstanding Auris diesel. The Prius is way ahead in comfort and drive-ability. I have the Excel version so the car is packed with features. I am ejoying the car very much and would recommend the vehicle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth ride Good to drive. Feels solid. Miss automatic windscreen wipers. Love reversing camera and keyless technology.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My kind of car! My second Prius, so that speaks for is'self! Not everyone's cup of tea but once used to the type of car and it's functions it is a pleasure to drive as it is fairly effortless. Some confidence is required to use it's many automated features but these can be over written to drive it as a normal everyday car if required. I was always a bit dubious about automatics but after driving my first Prius I took to it well and would never go back to Manual . I changed my last one at 127, 000 miles and it still drove perfect, like new. Hence my desire for the latest model. I am averaging 70 mpg at the moment compared to my last Prius which delivered around 60mpg on average . So look foward to years of comfortable economic motoring in my new one!
