Full-range Adaptive Cruise Control
Toyota Safety Sense’s Full-Range Adaptive Cruise Control enables the hybrid car to maintain a constant speed without the use of the accelerator pedal, keeping a minimum, pre-set distance from the vehicle in front. If this distance falls, the system reduces speed to preserve the distance between the car and the vehicle ahead, applying the brakes and slowing to a stop if necessary. If the distance increases, the car will begin accelerating as required, until the traffic flow allows for a return to the pre-selected cruising speed. Should a traffic jam occur, the driver would only need to handle the steering wheel while the system maintains the appropriate distance and speed. Please note that this function is only available on vehicles with an automatic transmission.
