The 8th Toyota Dream Car UK awards ceremony took place at Toyota GB’s Burgh Heath headquarters on 15th February 2018.

103 Toyota centres nationwide took part in the annual Dream Car art competition, with 802 entries in total. Each child took on the challenge of drawing their own ‘dream’ car, alongside a description of their vehicle and what it could be used for.

These drawings were then sent to Toyota GB’s head office for judging. Staff were amazed at the level of talent and imagination that the entries showed. Nine lucky contestants from across Great Britain were invited as finalists to take part in the UK’s award ceremony. There were three finalists per age category: under 8s, 8 – 11 year olds and 12 – 15 years old.

Toyota GB’s director of HR & Corporate Operations, Robin Giles presented each contestant with a framed copy of their drawing, a themed goody bag and a brand new tablet. Check out the gallery below of all the fantastic UK finalists’ drawings from each age category.

Under 8s - Martin Wellstead (aged 6)

The Friendly Underwater Cleaning Car: These cars are designed as friendly sea creatures so they don’t scare off the sea life.

The periscope helps in the search for rubbish which is then collected by the cars. These cars keep the oceans clean for all to enjoy.

The car can fly, tell jokes, sing songs, shower you with sweets, gum drops and fairy glitter.

8 – 11s – Tess Hudson (aged 10)

Deep Freeze: It swims around the ocean like an icepack for the Earth forming ice in the water and lowering ocean temperatures.

This will help stop bleaching of the coral reefs and keep the ice from melting at the North and South poles, keeping the oceans healthy for future generations.

Under 15s – Saraya Kingsley (aged 14)

The Tree-mendous Travel Car: This car travels all around the world collecting homeless people who are then provided a home in a tree.

The tree that grows on the sustainable wooden car grows pink/yellow apples which when you eat, heals you immediately.

This car is perfect for the future because it is environmentally friendly and it saves many lives.
