EXPLORE

Life's full of challenges. Outsmart them with the Yaris.

Jump into the Yaris! Use the quick navigation below to get the latest information and the answers to all your questions.

Nimble and responsive

The Yaris takes urban driving in its stride, thanks to its quick steering, cornering confidence and excellent visibility.

The wheel-at-each-corner design and stiff bodyshell improve handling still further. This is one fun car to drive.

Plenty of room

You won't lack space inside.

Despite being one of the shortest cars in its class, the Yaris has more rear knee-room than its rivals and a deeper boot, too. Pack to the roof and it'll carry 347 litres - enough to carry six large rucksacks, or a buggy and a week's shopping, for example. Need to double your load space? Just fold the seats for a full 768 litres.

Light on fuel

The Yaris is a real fuel-miser, but without sacrificing performance.

The 1.33 petrol manual achieves 52.3mpg, improving to 55.4mpg for the automatic version. The 1.0 petrol hits 58.9mpg while the 1.4 diesel is even better at 72.4mpg.

Well connected

With the Toyota Touch & Go† multimedia system you'll discover an impressive blend of the latest technology, with satellite navigation, Bluetooth® and a built in rear-view camera.

The touchscreen becomes your phone's interface, allowing you to safely read texts, answer calls and search your address book. The sat nav can direct you around traffic jams, and Google® Local Search makes it easy to find whatever you need, quickly and easily.

Maximised safety

It may be a compact car, but it's full of safety technology. The Yaris has becomes the third generation of Toyota's supermini to pass through Euro NCAP independent crash testing with flying colours. The results were even good enough to comply with the higher five-star threshold that will be introduced in 2012.

The Yaris has 7 airbags plus Whiplash Injury Lessening seats designed to reduce neck and shoulder injury in the event of a rear-end shunt.

Clean and cost effective

Because the CO2 emissions are so good, Yaris owners will save on car tax.

The diesel at 104g/km attracts just £20 a year in tax. The 1.0 petrol and 1.33 automatic are in the £30 band, with the 1.33 manual just one band above that.

Easy to park

With a tight turning circle and nimble handling, the Yaris is simple to slide into the smallest of parking spaces.

The standard rear-view camera* makes it easier still.

*Available on TR, SR, Trend & T Spirit

Sharper, smarter styling

The dynamic styling isn't just for show.

Wind slips easily over the new design to give it a class leading drag coefficient of Cd 0.287. That helps keep fuel consumption low.

How can the Yaris help me avoid accidents?

In lots of ways, because it's full of active safety technology to help avert dangerous situations. These include the following:

Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD): ABS prevents the wheels from locking when braking; EBD optimises the brake force on each wheel. Together they help maintain control.

Brake Assist (BA): detects when you attempt an emergency stop, and applies extra brake pressure. This enables ABS to work to its full potential.

Vehicle Stability Control (VSC): activates individual brakes and controls engine output to help prevent skidding when cornering on slippery surfaces.

Traction Control (TRC): automatically reduces engine power and controls brake force if you accelerate too hard. This helps to restore traction.

Rear seat belt reminder: A seat belt warning lamp and buzzer covers both front and rear seats.

Whiplash Injury Lessening (WIL) seats: Front WIL seats cushion the head and back to reduce the risk of whiplash injuries
